As the year comes to a close, the fifth grade students are working on their final research paper. The students were tasked with writing about a famous person or event of their choosing. The paper is the last in a series of steps we have learned the past year in Language Arts. We started with learning how to take notes while reading, then crafting an outline with the information they have learned, and finally, creating a thesis statement based on their findings. In the upcoming weeks, I look forward to reading papers varying in topics from Pearl Harbor to Taylor Swift.
