Rafael Carreira joined the board at East Lake Academy in 2013. Currently, Executive Vice President/Partner at Riverside Investment and Development Company in Chicago where he leads major high-rise real estate development projects in the Chicago area. Previously, for twenty years he worked at The John Buck Company, a commercial real estate firm, where he served as Principal and Partner. In his capacity at The John Buck Company, Rafael headed the Real Estate Development Group, where he managed the execution of real estate development including multi- story office, multi-family residential, retail, educational facilities, and hotels. He has served on numerous real estate industry committees and boards and is a frequent panelist/speaker on topics related to real estate development in Chicago. From 2008 until 2013, Rafael served as member of the faculty at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he taught a course in Real Estate Development. In addition, Rafael has served on the Board of Directors for four other Catholic schools in the Chicago area. Mr. Carreira obtained a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The University of Notre Dame and an MBA in finance, marketing, and real estate from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. His youngest child graduated from East Lake Academy in 2021.
