The Math Club had a guest speaker on December 21st. The speaker was Kevin McNeely. Kevin is a sophomore at Northern Illinois University. He is majoring in Math and is a member of the NIU Math Club. For the 3rd year in a row, East Lake has received a grant from the Westerman Foundation.  This year, we used funds to purchase several cordless, charging stereoscopes and a cart to store, transport, and charge them.  A stereoscope is a microscope that can look at slides and can also “zoom in” on any solid object!  We also purchased a handheld microscope that connects to the computer, so teachers in younger grades are able to display the magnified image on the projector.  These tools coul..

At the start of the New Year the students were introduced to volleyball and badminton.
