Mrs. Kowalski joined the East Lake Academy family in the fall of 2009, when she and her husband enrolled their four children at the Academy. She joined the East Lake staff in 2010 as our Pre K 3 Teaching Assistant and was hired as lead Pre K 3 Teacher in 2011, bringing with her years of prior experience in grades pre-kindergarten, two and three. As a member of the Kappa Delta Pi International Education Honor Society, Mrs. Kowalski graduated from Loras College, Dubuque, IA with a B.A. in Elementary Education. In her tenure as Teacher, Mrs. Kowalski was nominated for the Kohl McCormick Teaching Award designated for dedicated, innovative leaders in their field. She implemented an outdoor education program for fifth grade students and was an Enrichment Teacher for G.E.T.S.M.A.R.T. (Great Educational Training in Science Math and Robotic Technology). Mrs. Kowalski has been an active volunteer within the Church community, serving adults, teens and youth, in a variety of capacities. She and her husband currently reside with their family in Lake Zurich, IL and are delighted to be a part of the East Lake community
