2016 Seraphim Summer Field Trips
6/15- Milwaukee Zoo – One of the country’s finest zoological attractions, the Milwaukee County Zoo will educate, entertain and inspire you! Visit over 2,000 mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles in specialized habitats spanning 200 wooded acres.
6/22- Boomer’s Baseball – Nothing says summer quite like an afternoon at the ballpark! Get ready to get the stadium rocking with on-field fun and games, a pre-game Camper Parade and a special appearance by Coop the Boomer.
6/29- Shedd Aquarium – Strap a mask and flippers onto your imagination and chart a course to the Shedd Aquarium. Get eye-to-eye with a dolphin or meet a penguin on a stroll to the South Pole. At Shedd, it’s all possible.
7/6- Ryerson Woods/Orbit Skate – After a morning exploring Ryerson Woods, spend the afternoon skating the half-acre wood floors at Orbit Skate Center.
7/13- Adler Planetarium – Students enjoy hands-on, minds-on activities and explore mind-blowing facts about the Universe that will stay with them long after they’ve left the museum. Attend the Solar System presentation in the domed theater.
7/20- Naper Settlement – Experience history at Naper Settlement, a family-friendly outdoor history museum featuring 12 acres of learning and interactive opportunities for all ages.
7/27- Lake County Fair – The Lake County Fair creates lasting memories for groups of all ages. Enjoy livestock animals and horticulture proudly exhibited by our community. Wholesome fun abounds in the form of a petting zoo, live music, rides, and races!
8/3- The Grove – Step into the past at the area’s most unique outdoor history and nature museum. Venture out on trails through mature oak forests past wetland pools. Learn firsthand about the Native American tribes who lived on this land and the settlers who followed them.
8/10- Santa’s Village AZoosment Park – Santa’s Village is the home of the original Santa’s Tree House Slide and favorite kiddie rides like the Kringle Convoy, Star Jets, the Antique Carousel, and Kiddieland’s original Midge-O-Racers. Visit the world of animals, both domestic and exotic!
8/17- Illinois Railway Museum – Get your fill of all things trains at the Illinois Railway Museum, America’s largest railway museum. Formed to preserve one important piece of rolling history, the museum is home to the largest operating demonstration railroad showcase in North America.
