Mrs. Jenni Shoemaker

Mrs. Shoemaker earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She served as the president of the UW chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association while in graduate school. She practiced as a speech language pathologist in the public schools for twenty-one years. For thirteen years, she worked for the Oak Grove School District, in Green Oaks, serving children from preschool to eighth grade. Before her move to Illinois, she was in California where she worked closely with the California State Preschools and the Head Start program in Escondido. In Wisconsin, she worked at an Early Childhood-5th grade elementary school, as well as contractual work with United Cerebral Palsy in their Birth-Three Connections and Respite Care programs, and for UW-Madison, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students studying speech and language pathology. She has also enjoyed volunteering in children’s ministry with infants and preschoolers. She joined the East Lake family in 2018 and has appreciated the opportunity to teach in such a kind and supportive environment. She lives in Green Oaks with her husband, Alex, her three children, Cecilia, Catherine, and Clayton, and their dog and cat.
