Spanish 4th – 8th Grade | 2016 National Spanish Exam

Señora González has done it yet again!  Congratulations to our middle school students, who attained national recognition for their excellent performance on the 2016 National Spanish Exam.

Of the 36 East Lake Middle School students who took part in this year’s National Spanish Exam, 35 placed in the Honorable Mention level or above, which equates to  97.2%!  This year, ELA students earned a total of 8 gold, 14 silver, and 9 bronze medals, along with 4 honorable mentions.  “Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 160,000 students participating in 2016.”

Students from East Lake Academy have a long history of high achievement on this exam. In 2014, 80.6% of our students’ attained honorable mention or above, and last year 96.4% qualified to that level! Needless to say, the numbers have continued to rise with each year we have taken the test.

Gracias a la maestra González por toda su ayuda y esfuerza con los estudiantes de sexto, séptimo y octavo grados.
