Originally from Mahomet, Illinois, Mr. Kieffer has been deeply involved in Catholic ministry for several years. He served as a Totus Tuus missionary for two summers in the Diocese of Peoria, traveling from parish to parish to teach the faith and lead young people in joyful discipleship. In his third year, he helped form and prepare new Totus Tuus missionaries, equipping them for their own summer of ministry. He also helped develop and launch Credo, a Catholic Bible summer camp at his home parish, which continues to offer children an engaging encounter with Scripture and the sacraments.
Mr. Kieffer is a recent graduate of Illinois State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in History and Anthropology. During his time there, he was actively involved with the St. John Paul II Newman Center, eventually serving for a year as the men’s campus minister. In that role, he mentored students and led faith formation initiatives aimed at cultivating a vibrant, Christ-centered campus culture.
He brings a joyful, faith-filled presence to the classroom and strives to create a learning environment where students are supported, challenged, and invited daily to encounter Christ. He is especially looking forward to working with families to help form young people into thoughtful, compassionate disciples who are eager to learn and live their faith.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Kieffer enjoys reading: especially books on history, theology, and the spiritual life. He also enjoys hiking and has recently taken up fishing.
