Fifth Grade Teacher

Mrs. Dutton received her bachelor’s degree in English from Illinois Wesleyan University and her master’s degree in teaching from National Louis University. She brings over 20 years of teaching experience and working with youth to East Lake Academy. Mrs. Dutton began her teaching career as a middle school Language Arts teacher in Berwyn, IL and then spent the next 15 years homeschooling her own children and teaching at a homeschool cooperative. For the past 4 years, she was the Director of Youth Ministry at St. Joseph in Libertyville where she worked with junior high and high school youth and helped them put their faith into action. Along with her husband, Tom, she led a teen mission trip to Harlan, KY, organized a local service week for junior high and high school youth, and found opportunities to engage teens in the food pantry and bed ministry at St. Joseph. Mrs. Dutton and her family have been parishioners at St. Joseph for the past 21 years and have been very involved in many ministries. Mrs. Dutton lives in Libertyville with her husband Tom and three children. Her two daughters are currently attending St. Norbert College in DePere, WI, and her son is a student at Libertyville High School. In her spare time, Mrs. Dutton loves cooking, crocheting, reading, listening to music, going on long walks, and spending time with her family and friends.
