East Lake Academy in Lake Forest, IL seeks Teacher. Responsible for teaching PreK3 – 5th grade (elementary school). Teaching immersion classes using different teaching techniques and creating and monitoring after school Spanish Club. Creating lesson plans, preparing classroom activities, organizing teaching materials, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, meeting with parents, teachers, and other professionals and participating in campus events. Create and Maintain a positive learning environment with solid classroom management. Foster communication and partner with parents to ensure student success.
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (or edu. equiv) in Modern language, Education or related and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related. Must also possess experience with (i) creating lesson plans that meet the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language) standards; (ii) creating lesson plans that are cross-curricular; (iii) Mastery of Content and Pedagogy; (iv) 1 year of experience teaching Spanish in an immersion program; and (v) must be Bilingual in Spanish and English.
