The eighth grade students worked hard this year to bequest East Lake Academy a special class gift. They hosted a successful and well-attended Movie Night to raise money for their gift. They organized the whole event with the assistance of their resourceful room mom, Mrs. Calk, and they invited the entire school to come to watch “Toy Story”, and to consume delicious treats, such as pizza, cookies, juice drink boxes, and popcorn. An enjoyable time was had by all. Special thanks to the Popcorn Factory for generously donating tasty popcorn and to the Griffith family for making delicious popcorn on the spot at Movie Night with their popcorn machine.
The eighth graders raised enough money for a meaningful class gift, namely a custom-made trophy case. East Lake students have earned trophies for their success in academic and athletic competitions. The trophy case will be prominently displayed in the Middle School building. It will serve as a perpetual reminder of the East Lake Academy Class of 2016.
