Sarah Murrens is excited to be teaching first grade at East Lake Academy this coming school year! She is a native of Libertyville, growing up and currently living in Terre Fair. She recently graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS where she studied Elementary Education. Ms. Murrens loves all things outdoors, especially hiking and chasing sunsets. She enjoys making art and music, specifically with the guitar, piano, and ukulele. She has always loved playing sports and her favorites being basketball, softball, and volleyball. Ms. Murrens is excited to teach at East Lake because according to her, “the school is committed to being Catholic in every way, and what a blessing it is to be able to teach where Catholicism can and should permeate every part of that. It is also a place of community, where faculty and staff support and lift one another up, so I know it will be a wonderful place to grow as a first-year teacher! In addition, I was very impressed with the standard of excellence to which the students are held, and it is inspiring to me to be a part of this formation. God has blessed me in many ways, and I am so looking forward to beginning my teaching career at East Lake Academy!”
