Mrs. McDonagh joined the East Lake community in 2022 and the board in 2024. She attended Missouri State University on the Presidential Scholarship and received her B.S. in Elementary Education. During this time, she completed her student teaching with the Department of Defense schools in Heidelberg, Germany. She received her M.A in Teaching English as a Second Language at Southern Illinois University while on the Competitive Graduate Award. Upon finishing her master’s degree, Mrs. McDonagh was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and taught at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland for a year. She returned to the states and taught for nine years in Highland Park, IL at both the middle school and elementary level. While there, she spearheaded numerous projects within her school and served on several district level committees. She currently serves on the Libertyville Park and Recreation Advisory Commission. Mrs. McDonagh actively volunteers at her parish including being past president for Mothers with Young Children and still currently serves on the MYC board as well as helping with Liturgy of the Word. She enjoys volunteering at East Lake and helped to launch the Moms Club as well as plan the gala. Three of her children currently attend East Lake Academy with one more future Seraphim at home with Mrs. McDonagh. She and her husband currently reside in Libertyville, IL with their family and feel extremely blessed to be a part of East Lake.
