Alexis McCormick was homeschooled in a loving Catholic family. From an early age, she has nurtured her love for both her Catholic Faith and for music. Especially interested in opera, she studied Vocal Performance at North Park University before graduating from Trinity International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education in 2011. At Trinity, she enjoyed touring with the University Choir, whose motto was “Soli Deo Gloria:” “To God alone be the Glory.” She also sang the role of the Second Woman in Henry Purcell’s opera “Dido and Aeneas.”
Alexis worked as a Music Coordinator, Cantor, Choir Director, and Accompanist at St. Peter’s Church in Spring Grove in the early 2000s. She appreciated this opportunity to glorify God through music in weekly Masses, weddings, and funerals. In the 2010s, she taught music classes in North Chicago, Round Lake, and Ingleside. Since 2022, she has taught piano and voice lessons at the Des Plaines School of Music. The opportunity to work at a Catholic school is very important to her because her Faith gives meaning to her life. She is excited to begin her new position at East Lake Academy, where she hopes to help bring students to the Lord through music.
