Srta Angela Spilotro

Lower School Spanish

Miss Spilotro received her bachelors’ degrees in Spanish (BA) and Theatre Studies (BS) from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. She graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors and honors in the major for her degrees and received the BirdFEEDER Grant for her dramaturgy work in the School of Theatre and Dance (SOTD). Miss Spilotro also was one of three students selected to receive the Caroline Gordon Scholarship for outstanding service, academic achievement, and leadership in the SOTD. In addition, Miss Spilotro was an active member in her university’s Hispanic Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi. As a member of Sigma Delta Pi, Miss Spilotro served the Bloomington-Normal community at local foreign language festivals as well as helping Normal Community high school students practice for their AP tests. Outside of her academic career, Miss Spilotro also was an active member of the John Paul II Catholic Newman Center where she served as a small group leader and a member of the ‘Service Team’ appointed by the Head Chaplain, Fr. Kyle Lucas.

In these positions she led bible studies on topics such as love and Christ’s commission and assisted in planning church retreats for college students. Having been a member of Youth Group and a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church, Miss Spilotro is excited to return to Lake Forest to share the joy of the Lord with her students.

She also played water polo at Stevenson High School and Illinois State University and continues her passion by coaching Age Group water polo at the Northern Illinois Polo Club at Stevenson. Her younger brother attends Illinois State University and is studying History Education. Miss Spilotro’s family share two cats named Twister and Percy, who is blind and an inspiration for our own faith and trust in God every day.
