As Catholics and followers of Christ, we are called to practice both the spiritual and corporal works of mercy in imitation of Christ, remembering that whatsoever we do for the least of our brethren, we do for Our Lord himself. At East Lake Academy, we take very seriously the call to put our faith into action through acts of service to those in need wherever they may be.
This past Thursday, as they do each fall, our middle school students, teachers and parent volunteers visited Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville to pack meals for underprivileged children around the globe. This year, through their hard work and cooperation our sixth, seventh and eighth graders packed 106 boxes full of Feed My Starving Children’s rice packs. Their efforts will provide 22,896 meals, enough to feed 62 children for a year. East Lake Academy is proud of our students and we thank our teachers for making this wonderful service opportunity possible.
A special thanks to our parent volunteers/drivers:
